Following last year's success, we're pleased to announce the 2nd International Summer School on Data Science (SSDS 2017), to be held on 25-29 September 2017 in Split, Croatia.
The SSDS 2017 is organized by the Center of Research Excellence for Data Science and Advanced Cooperative Systems, Research Unit for Data Science.
The SSDS 2017 is open to all graduate students, researchers, and professionals in the area of data science. The program consists of lectures taught by renowned researchers in the field. This year's edition focuses on machine learning, in particular deep learning, which has grown to be an important and lively area of research, and an important and effective tool for many data science applications.
The five-days lectures will present the fundamental and advanced concepts of deep learning. In the accompanying hands-on sessions, the participants will have an opportunity to experience the practical aspects of deep learning. In addition, the SSDS 2017 will include a poster session giving participants an opportunity to present and discuss their research results.
The deadline for application for the SSDS 2017 is 14th of August or until all available positions are filled.
More information can be found on the SSDS 2017 web site: https://sites.google.com/site/ssdatascience2017/.

The 8th Conference on Complex Networks (CompleNet 2017) will be held on 22-25th March 2017, in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
CompleNet aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners working on areas related to complex networks. In the past two decades we have been witnessing an exponential increase on the number of publications in this field. From biological systems to computer science, from economic to social systems, complex networks are becoming pervasive in many fields of science. It is this interdisciplinary nature of complex networks that CompleNet aims at addressing.
Submission deadline is 13th November 2016. More information can be found here.
